Lethpora-Khrew road in dilapidated condition, locals demand macadamisation | KNO

Pulwama, May 13 (KNO): The residents of Khrew area of Awantipora sub division in south Kashmir's Pulwama district have demanded macadmisation of vital Lethpora-Khrew road which is lying in dilapidated condition at most of the spots. The residents of the area said that the road wasn't macadamised for the last several years due to which it is lying in dilapidated condition. Aabid Hussian, a local resident told news agency—Kashmir News Observer(KNO), that this vital road was macadamised a few years back and now the road is lying dilapidated at most of the places giving tough time to locals and commuters. He said that the government must look into the issue as this road is connecting Khrew industrial area with the National highway. Shakeel Ahmad, another local, said that this road has curves and slopes at several spots and at these spots the road is mainly in bad condition which can prove fatal in wet weather. He said that accidents are taking place almost everyday on the road due to its dilapidated condition. Locals said that this road has very much importance as it connects Khrew industrial area with National Highway and there remains heavy rush on it. Despite bringing this issue in notice of higher ups several times nothing has been done on ground, they said. They requested government to look into the matter at an earliest and repair and macadamise the road at an earliest so that any untoward incident can be avoided—(KNO)
